ATA 2561 LIFE JACKET–BATTERY PACK–Swollen–PART NO. WAB-H18 P/N 517-09. DR 611851499 (image above)
Total of 9 x WAB-H18 orange batteries found swollen during scheduled maintenance. Possible reason could be manufacturing defect at the composition level of the batteries and or moisture/humidity. ATA 2564 LIFERAFT–CYLINDER–LEAKING–PART NO. 64356-101. DR 611851518
Life raft was found to have low pressure indicated on the cylinder pressure gauge i.e. CO2 slowly leaked through the discharge fitting. The cylinder was completely discharged, valve disassembled and inspected. The ball and ball seat were carefully inspected with nil fault found, valve was reassembled, and cylinder refilled to 3000 PSI. Valve was inspected after 24-hour, satisfactory. Ball seat P/No B19167-1 will be replaced as a matter of precaution.
