MCCAULEY PROPELLERS C2A34C204/90DCB-8–ATA 6122 PROPELLER GOVERNOR–BEARING–DAMAGED. DR 611852585
Propeller control became unserviceable. CSU replaced. Upon strip examination, it was found that idler gear bearing in CSU had totally failed damaging idler gear stud, CSU prop body relief valve & drive gear. CSU drive gear could not be turned by hand. Exact bearing batch could not be identified due to damage sustained, however it is likely there is a link to AWB 01-036 issue 1. dated 31 Aug 2018.

Governor was disassembled and inspected, it was found the idler gear bearing had almost completely failed and idler stud found u/s.
