ATA 6122 PROPELLER GOVERNOR–BEARING–DAMAGED. DR 611852725
Propeller governor received into workshop for repair in reference to McCauley ASB 273. Item partially disassembled and suspect bearing located. Item bearing quarantined. During inspection of the defective bearing it was found that the bearing cage had started to break up.

During maintenance check, an unusual amount of grease was noticed on the RH propeller spinner. After removal of spinner, some hardware (bolts/nuts, 8 of) that hold the propeller hub halves together were found loose. Two nuts could be rotated using fingers, 3 nuts could be rotated using a spanner. In addition, a crack was seen on the FWD hub half. The inside of the spinner had a large amount of grease. Root cause for the loose hardware is not known at this stage. However, propeller was removed for shop inspection. Resolution: fleetwide inspection of all Dowty propellers for security of the hub half hardware initiated. Dowty notified. OEM advises, this is first case of its kind. Follow up is continuing.

ATA 6114 PROPELLER HUB SECTION–PROPELLER FLANGE–CRACKED. DR 611852747
During routine visual inspection of PGB propeller shaft forward flange, a mark was noticed on the forward flange in flange dowel pin hole. For further inspection, engine/PGB were removed, subsequent spot F.P.I. of the forward flange confirmed an ‘indication’ which did not meet the inspection limits of the CT7 MM 72-10-00 Inspection Para 4.A. OEM (GE) notified. Rectifications planned.
