GIPPSLAND GA8 – ATA 5740 WING, ATTACH FITTINGS – FITTING – SERVICEABLE. DR 611953958
No discrepancies reported against SB GA8-2017-174.

Two similar reports received.

CESSNA 402 C – ATA 5740 WING, ATTACH FITTINGS – FITTING – INCORRECT ASSY. DR 611953963
LH Fwd Wing Attach Fitting has been incorrectly installed (loose Jo-bolts) at a previous repair and required further investigation.
PIPER PA31 350 – ATA 3230 LANDING GEAR RETRACT/EXTENSION SYSTEM – DOWNLOCK – Lubricated. DR 611954015
No gear down indication on LH MLG upon first extension. Hook mechanism lubricated IAW SL 755. Retractions satisfactory.
PIPER PA32 300 – ATA 5711 WING SPAR  – SPAR – CORRODED. DR 611954023
During periodic inspection, bulging was evident on left spar, when LH fuel tank removed.
No AD applicable to this area. Piper recommended inspection interval is every 7 years.
Repairs underway.
CESSNA 172 R – ATA 3260 LANDING GEAR POSITION AND WARNING SYSTEM  – MICROSWITCH – FAILED. DR 611954028
Undercarriage down warning light slow to illuminate. Down micro switch found with very high internal resistance.

New micro switch fitted.

CESSNA 210 N – ATA 3260 LANDING GEAR POSITION AND WARNING SYSTEM  – SWITCH – INTERMITTENT. DR 611954030
Multiple recycles required for positive down and lock indication. Down and locked light assy intermittent.
Root cause: RH MLG down lock switch / light assy intermittent.
Same replaced, rigged and tested serviceable.
DE HAVILLAND DH 82A – ATA 5341 FUSELAGE, WING ATTACH FITTINGS  – BOLT – SUP. DR 611954033
During tie rod replacement, IAW AD G 2014-0001-E. joint H bolts checked IAW ATSB Action number AO-20B-226-NSA-046. qty 1 bolt found to be of local manufacture with nil part number stamped on head IAW OEM requirements.
CESSNA 210 L – ATA 3230 LANDING GEAR RETRACT/EXTENSION SYSTEM – ACTUATOR – INCORRECT RIGGED. DR 611954036
After take-off, gear failed to lock in up position. Moreover, unable to get full down and locked indication.

Root cause: Main gear actuator were not fitted with any master spline and gear was found to be misaligned by 1 spline.

Leg was removed and refitted in correct location. Spline was last disturbed 200 hours previous against SID32-10-01.

CESSNA U206 G – ATA 2421 AC GENERATOR-ALTERNATOR  – ALTERNATOR – UNSERVICEABLE. DR 611954065
Pilot reported that High Voltage Light illuminated twice in flight. Suspect shorted alternator windings.
Troubleshooting carried out. Alternator found U/S and replaced. Ground tested serv. Aircraft returned to service.
GIPPSLAND GA8 – ATA 2720 RUDDER CONTROL SYSTEM  – CABLE – INCORRECT ROUTED. DR 611954066
While preparation of aircraft for export in shipping container, rudder cables not adequately secured.  While assembling aircraft at destination, rudder cable slippage noted.

Recommendation: Cables to be secured during transport. Additionally, reassembly instructions should make sure that the technician inspects the rudder cables for proper routing prior to tensioning.
