Ho, ho, ho, careful with that drone

It’s that time of year again, when drones can be found under Christmas trees and a generation of new pilots takes its first multirotor solo as soon as they’ve got the battery connected. (They are pilots, whether they realise it or not.)

But among the air traffic that must contend with this new feature of the aviation landscape is a flying sleigh that means a great deal to children round the world.

CASA’s lighthearted Christmas drone video reminds you it’s easier than ever for recreational drone users to follow our simple safety rules. We don’t want to spoil anybody’s fun but drones are toys with real-world consequences.

So follow the rules and fly responsibly.

More information is available at CASA’s drone website droneflyer.com.au and our ‘Can I fly there? app’ to find out where you can and can’t fly your drone.
