Date: 30 September Aircraft: Airbus A380-861 Description: The aircraft operating from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, to Los Angeles International Airport, California, USA, diverted to Goose Bay, Canada following an en route engine malfunction. The aircraft was over southern Greenland when the no. 4 engine suffered an uncontained failure. The entire fan and engine air inlet cowling broke away. A decision was made to divert and a safe landing was carried out. After landing, there was reported damage to the leading edge of the wing above the no. 4 engine and debris on the runway. Description: The aircraft was stationary on a ramp at the airport and was struck by a bus. The pilot and two crewmembers on the aircraft were uninjured and the 24 on board the bus were also uninjured. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to its left aileron.

Description: The aircraft was damaged by fire while undergoing routine maintenance in a hangar. The owner reported the fire originated in a fuel tank.

Description: The aircraft struck a tug with its wingtip while taxiing to the gate. The tug driver sustained unknown injuries.

Aircraft: Airbus A321-231 (WL)
Description: The aircraft sustained a tailstrike accident on landing. The aircraft departed Miami International Airport at 18:42 hours local time and during touchdown the tail section struck the runway. The aircraft proceeded normally to the apron. On September 28 the aircraft was ferried at low altitude (FL100) to Miami and continued to San Antonio the next day.

Description: The aircraft collided with a light pole while taxiing after landing. The pilot and eight passengers were not injured and the aircraft sustained substantial damage to the left wing.

Aircraft: Cessna 650 Citation VII
Description: The corporate jet was destroyed in an accident and post-impact fire during an attempted landing. The aircraft departed Atatürk Airport about 21:05 local time. Shortly after take-off a situation developed which forced the flight to return to the departure airport. The aircraft suffered a runway excursion while attempting to land. It crossed a concrete ditch and a post impact fire erupted. The two pilots, flight attendant and sole passenger survived the accident.

Description: The aircraft sustained substantial damage in a runway excursion accident. The aircraft veered off the side of the runway while landing in heavy rainfall. The nose landing gear collapsed and both propellers were damaged.

Description: The aircraft was destroyed when it impacted terrain during an ambulance flight in Kazakhstan. The aircraft took off from Almaty at 18:35 hours local time with destination Shymkent, Kazakhstan. It impacted terrain and caught fire 12 minutes later, near the village of Mezhdurechenskoye. All five on board suffered fatal injuries.

Aircraft: de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter 300
Description: The seaplane sustained substantial damage in a landing accident in the Hulhumalé Lagoon near Malé-Velana International Airport. The aircraft came to rest inverted. All occupants survived the accident. Weather conditions in the area were unstable.

Aircraft: Embraer EMB-120ER
Description: The aircraft was destroyed when it crashed during a flight from Dundo to Luanda, Angola. On board were three crew members, two medics, a company employee and a South African patient, suffering malaria symptoms. Contact with the flight was lost 15 minutes after departure, shortly after the pilot reported a malfunction in the engine, followed by fire. The wreackage was found near Cuílo, 170 kilometres from Dundo Airport.

Description: The aircraft suffered a runway excursion after landing. It ran off the left side of the runway and came to rest in grass, about 1200 metres past the runway threshold. The nose landing gear collapsed and the aircraft was evacuated via the escape slide of the right-hand forward door. Weather conditions at the time were poor with notable rainfall and strong winds.

Aircraft: Antonov An-26-100
Description: The cargo plane impacted the shoreline, while on final approach and came down in the sea, about 650 metres short of the threshold. The aircraft broke in three upon impact. On board were six Moldovan crew members and four French army personnel. Four crew members died in the accident. Weather reports indicate that a thunderstorm was passing the airport at the time of the accident.

Description: The float-equipped aircraft suffered an accident while attempting to land on the Rio Negro river. The aircraft came to rest inverted in the water. One of the passengers sustained fatal injuries.

Aircraft: Beechcraft 200C Super King Air
Description: The aircraft force-landed in a wooded area. All twelve occupants survived the accident. The aircraft departed Contamana at 11:28 hours local time, with destination Pucallpa. At 11:49, while 42.5 kilometres from Pucallpa, the flight radioed an emergency. Reports indicate the forced landing was made as a result of ‘mechanical issues’.

Description: The aircraft sustained substantial damage in a runway excursion accident after landing. The aircraft impacted a tree, causing serious damage to the engine and forward fuselage. The right-hand wing broke away from the fuselage. Two of passengers and the pilot received minor injuries. There was no fire.

Description: The aircraft suffered a runway excursion after landing. The crew had advised ATC of a low oil pressure indication in the left engine before landing but no emergency was declared. The left main gear and nose gear collapsed and the propellers contacted the ground. The pilot and co-pilot received minor injuries. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the fuselage, propellers, landing gear and right wing.

Description: The aircraft impacted wooded terrain next to a residence area. The aircraft was consumed by fire. One of the two pilots sustained fatal injuries. Preliminary information suggests the aircraft crashed immediately after take-off.

Aircraft: Let L-410UVP-E20
Description: The aircraft impacted a forest with little or no forward speed, 1200 metres short of the runway. Two crew members and four passengers suffered fatal injuries. A young girl was the only survivor. There was no fire.

Description: The aircraft was involved in an accident and all occupants, ten passengers and one pilot, sustained fatal injuries. The aircraft was en route to Serengeti with four tourists and safari camp personnel.

Aircraft: de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter 200HG
Description: The float plane suffered an accident during a water take-off. Initial reports suggest that one of the floats may have hit an object during take-off. Both floats broke away, causing the aircraft to come to rest nose down in the water. All occupants escaped unhurt.

Aircraft: Cessna 208B Grand Caravan
Description: The aircraft was taking off when the undercarriage hit a car on a road just outside the airport. The aircraft could not gain altitude and impacted the water. All aboard were able to get out safely. The runway has a length of 620 metres. Warning signs say vehicles must stop and give way to aircraft landing and taking off.
