  • Aircraft: Antonov AN-2P
  • Location: Near Tanzybei, Russia
  • Fatalities: 2
  • Description: Utility biplane crashed into forested area on ferry flight.

3 October

  • Aircraft: Mil Mi-171E
  • Location: Oshtorankukh Mountains, Iran
  • Fatalities: 2
  • Description: Search and rescue helicopter operated by Iranian Red Crescent with 8 people on board crashed on landing at 2,800 metre elevation during search for a missing mountaineer.

3 October

  • Aircraft: Kangook MF
  • Location: Near Lethbridge, Canada
  • Fatalities: 1
  • Description: Gust of wind partly deflated powered parachute and pilot was unable to recover before impact with ground.

4 October

  • Aircraft: Cessna 172/Cessna 172
  • Location: Near Santa Ana, Bolivia
  • Fatalities: 2
  • Description: Two aircraft with student and instructor in each collided mid-air. One crashed, the other was able to land without casualties.

5 October

  • Aircraft: Beechcraft 58P Baron
  • Location: Near Williston Airport, USA
  • Fatalities: 3
  • Description: Aircraft turned right and dived steeply from 1,300 feet on approach.

16 October

  • Aircraft: Hawker 800 XP
  • Location: Near Bath, US
  • Fatalities: 3
  • Description: Aircraft on post-maintenance test flight made rapid descent from flight level 140, crew reported stall. Aircraft crashed in flat attitude and caught fire. Crew had chosen to do stall test themselves when test pilot was unavailable.

20 October

  • Aircraft: Boeing 747-400
  • Location: Chek Lap Kok Airport, China
  • Fatalities: 2 on ground
  • Description: Cargo aircraft skidded off runway, hit an airport patrol vehicle, ran through perimeter fencing and went into the sea, taking vehicle with it. Occupants of vehicle killed. Preliminary report says engine 4 thrust lever found in full forward position.

22 October

  • Aircraft: Robinson R66
  • Location: Near Ekalaka, US
  • Fatalities: 4
  • Description: Parents and 2 children killed when helicopter crashed for unknown reasons. Witness reported something detaching from helicopter as it flew over before descending out of sight.

28 October

  • Aircraft: Cessna 208B Grand Caravan
  • Location: Near Kwale, Kenya
  • Fatalities: 11
  • Description: Aircraft carrying international tourists to wildlife reserve crashed en route into wooded area. Witnesses reported low cloud and rain at crash site. Impact was nose-down attitude, with front of aircraft buried 2 metres in soil.

4 November

  • Aircraft: McDonnell Douglas MD-11
  • Location: Near Louisville-Muhammad Ali International Airport, US
  • Fatalities: 3 + 11
  • Description: Cargo aircraft crashed after engine detached from left wing on take-off. Aircraft failed to climb and crashed into industrial area near airport. Fuel for flight to Hawaii contributed to intense and long‑lasting fire. MD-11 fleet grounded after accident.

7 November

  • Aircraft: Kamov Ka-226
  • Location: Achi-Su, Russia
  • Fatalities: 5
  • Description: Helicopter landed on beach in steep nose-up attitude. Tail broke off and helicopter took off again, striking an unoccupied building and bursting into flames. Two survivors.

18 November

  • Aircraft: Cirrus SR20 S G3
  • Location: Near Hoshinomura, Japan
  • Fatalities: 3
  • Description: Aircraft crashed in mountainous terrain on island of Fukuoka.

25 November

  • Aircraft: Let L410
  • Location: Near Rupchier Boma, South Sudan
  • Fatalities: 3
  • Description: Aircraft carrying aid for flood victims crashed on landing approach.

30 November

  • Aircraft: The Airplane Factory Sling 2
  • Location: Near Morningstar Airfield, South Africa
  • Fatalities: 2
  • Description: Light sport aircraft had engine failure soon after take-off and crashed.

7 December

  • Aircraft: Robin DR.400/180R Remorqueur
  • Location: Bethmale, France
  • Fatalities: 4
  • Description: Flying club aircraft crashed into Pyrenees mountain range. Media reported victims as instructor and 3 students aged between 18 and 25.

15 December

  • Aircraft: Cessna 650 Citation III
  • Location: Toluca International Airport, Mexico
  • Fatalities: 7
  • Description: Business jet crashed into building near airport.

23 December

  • Aircraft: Dassault Falcon 50
  • Location: Near Haymana, Turkiye
  • Fatalities: 8
  • Description: Aircraft made ‘PAN PAN’ call 31 minutes after take-off reporting electrical problems and requesting return to Ankara. Pilot declared emergency 2 minutes later. Four minutes later, approach control lost contact with aircraft, which crashed into hill 60 km south of Ankara.

24 December

  • Aircraft: Airbus Helicopters H125 (Aerospatiale 350B3e)
  • Location: Near Barfu Camp, Mt Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
  • Fatalities: 5
  • Description: Helicopter on mission to rescue climber crashed at elevation of 4,700 metres, 1,300 metres below summit.

28 December

  • Aircraft: Enstrom 280C Shark/Enstrom F28A
  • Location: Hammonton, New Jersey, US
  • Fatalities: 2
  • Description: Helicopters travelling together collided over airport soon after take-off. One pilot killed, the other died in hospital. No other occupants on aircraft.
