PROPELLER
HARTZELL PROPELLERS HC-C2YR-1BF/8475R –  ATA 6122 PROPELLER GOVERNOR – CABLE – FAILED. DR 611954109
Propeller didn’t respond to pith lever movement by the pilot on ground test.

Root cause: Propeller Governor cable found broken at the Governor end (ball end being seized).

Pitch control cable, rod ends and attaching hardware replaced with new parts, cable rigged I.A.W. GA8 M/M C01-00-03 and IPC C01-02-01. Independent checks c/o as required. Tested serviceable.

HAMILTON STANDARD 14SF-23/SFA13()-OA –  ATA 6123 PROPELLER FEATHERING/REVERSING – RELAY – FAULTY. DR 611954123
Auto feather slow to arm, resulted in rejected take off, only Armed at around 85% Tq.
Root cause: Faulty Auto feather Arming Relay (6121-K5).
Auto feather Arming Relay (6121-K5) replaced.
Engine Ground runs carried out with simulated take off conditions (flight crew on board); auto feather system is now arming at between 60%-62% with consistently repeatable results.
HARTZELL PROPELLERS HC-D4N-3A –  ATA 6123 PROPELLER FEATHERING/REVERSING – PROPELLER – Not Feathered. DR 611954129
Following engine ground run, RH prop noted to be not in the fully feathered position. Subsequent ground run carried out with prop functional checks verified, after shut down. Prop still in the same non fully feathered position.
Serviceable propeller installed.
 ATA 6122 PROPELLER GOVERNOR – BEARING – DAMAGED. DR 611954135
Idler gear found to be cracked in multiple places. Have only ever seen this on sudden stoppage/high ground impact strikes. If gear separates, CSU+ engine failure could result.
